The Five Healthy Vein Practices

1

Daily exercise is important. A brisk 30-minute walk, bike ride, yoga, elliptical machine or treadmill are all healthy vein practices.

2

Do you sit a lot? Try to improve your environment by having something available to elevate your feet and getting the pressure off of the back of your thighs.

3

Do you stand a lot? If you’re able, lie down and elevate your feet above your heart for about 10-15 minutes.

4

When you have a few moments in your day, while you’re seated, perform 3 sets of 12 dorsiflexion exercises (raising your toes up and down). Relaxing between each set.

5

Wear some level of graduated compression support hose whenever possible. Any level of compression is better than none!
